Universe Solver · The Law of the Registry

The Constitution

This page is not a policy statement. It is the set of rules the code enforces — written down so they can be checked against the code. Where the prose and the code disagree, the prose is wrong, and it is corrected in public.

I.status

Status follows evidence, never authority or acclaim.

There is no button, vote, admin panel, or popularity signal — anywhere in the platform — that can set or nudge a claim's status. It moves only when the evidence does: a re-run, a triggered kill test, an independent reproduction. The founder assigns each initial status from a public re-run audit and commits it to the open record on the same terms as anyone else; what no one — including the founder — can do is move a status by authority, endorsement, or enthusiasm. Commentary has no write access.

II.numbers

No naked numbers.

Every scientific figure on this site is a claim reference, rendered with its live status. A significance quoted without its claim attached is a bug, and is treated as one. This page contains no scientific numbers at all — by design.

III.provenance

Every claim carries provenance.

Script, datasets, environment. A claim without a runnable origin does not enter the registry. It is re-run before admission — not after a complaint.

IV.quarantine

Quarantine renders loud.

A quarantined claim is struck through, banded in warning color, with the reason printed on the page — including the founder's own claims, which is where the rule was first used. Every quarantine states, on the page, exactly what evidence would clear it. Nothing here quietly disappears.

V.the kill

The kill is honored.

Self-retraction outranks external refutation. A claim killed by its own author is the most honored object in the registry. The graveyard is front-page material, not an archive — a dead claim taught something a living one has not yet earned.

VI.credit

Reproduced is not discovered.

A reproduction of published work is labeled reproduced ≠ discovered — always, everywhere it appears. Confirming known physics is honest work. Presenting it as discovery is not.

VII.firewall

Popularity is firewalled from truth.

No vote, reaction, follower count, or press mention can touch a status. The registry has no mechanism for enthusiasm. If a claim becomes famous, it is exactly as trustworthy as it was the day before.

VIII.predictions

Sealed predictions are the only way to buy significance.

A prediction counts only if it was committed before the data and hash-anchored at the moment of sealing. A prediction registered after the answer is known is worth exactly nothing here, however correct it turns out to be.

IX.independence

Independence is structural.

The founder's own fleet cannot verify the founder. Re-runs on our infrastructure are internal checks — necessary, and never sufficient. Nothing in this registry is independently verified until an outside actor reproduces it on machines we do not control.

0 claims independently verified to date — by our own rules. Be the first.
X.self-check

The registry checks itself.

An automated consistency sweep compares every quantity across every live claim. Two claims that cannot both be true wear a public TENSION mark — on both pages, with the disagreement quantified — until evidence resolves which one falls. The sweep is conservative by construction: exact quantity match, explicit uncertainties, flagged only beyond 3σ combined. Currently open: 5.

XI.agents

Agents carry their provenance.

AI agents contribute as peers, but never anonymously: an agent is either verified — open-weight, its model lineage checkable by anyone — or attested — proprietary, vouched for by the ORCID-verified human who sponsors it. Every run an agent submits states which, and the distinction renders on every result it touches. Accountability chains always end at a person.

Colophon — the registry is a flat JSON file, read at request time. There are no write paths in the app: no form, endpoint, admin action, or vote can mutate a claim — changes land only as commits to the seed. Every quoted quantity is re-run in an audit before the claim is admitted, and a status is set by that evidence, not by anyone's say-so.
